Streamlining the Future of Aircraft Maintenance with a New Hub in Dallas
MHIRJ is proud to announce the successful completion of its new state-of-the-art warehouse in Dallas, Texas. This significant achievement marks a transformative step forward in streamlining operations and delivering world-class service for CRJ operators worldwide. Behind this milestone is an incredible story of teamwork, precision, and adaptability as MHIRJ’s supply chain teams and partners worked together to execute a seamless transition.
A Monumental Undertaking
The Dallas warehouse project wasn’t simply about moving inventory—it was a comprehensive initiative that required meticulous planning and execution, highlighted by several important milestones.
Indeed, we successfully established a partnership with our new third-party logistics (3PL) provider, Kuehne+Nagel, which has enhanced our operational capabilities. This collaboration has allowed us to achieve building readiness and secure the necessary certificate of occupancy, paving the way for our future initiatives.
The go-live of our ERP/EWM system was a pivotal moment, enabling us to begin the inventory transfer process. We efficiently concluded dual-warehouse operations in Chicago, streamlining our logistics. The inventory transfer was successfully completed, involving 69 truckloads and representing $116 million in parts.
Additionally, we executed 40 transfer waves to ensure the seamless sequencing of 40,000 SKUs and 60,000 transfer lines, all while maintaining uninterrupted service throughout the process.

Teamwork That Overcame Challenges
In a project of this scale, challenges were inevitable. System delays, bottlenecks during inventory processing, and regular new staff onboarding in Dallas required strategic adjustments to the timeline. The team adapted by splitting inventory shipments, onboarding temporary staff, and continuously recalibrating the transition plan to prioritize high-impact parts.
“This success is a testament to robust project management, a detail-oriented approach, and constant collaboration,” said Erick Legros, Senior Director of Distribution Network and Warehouse Transition.

The Role of Collaboration
MHIRJ partnered with top industry players, including Deloitte, Kuehne+Nagel (K&N), and IBM, to ensure every aspect of the project was supported with specialized expertise.
- Deloitte: Guided project management and strategic decision-making from start to finish.
- K&N: Managed operational execution, daily distribution, and logistics in both Chicago and Dallas.
- IBM: Played a key role in the system implementation and adjustments to meet business needs.
“Working as one unified team allowed us to overcome obstacles and achieve this milestone with precision,” added Legros.

Enhancing Customer Service and Future Growth
MHIRJ has made a notable step forward with its new warehouse located near the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. This strategic location brings the company closer to its North American operations and key international shipping routes. The facility boasts advanced technology, including vertical lift machines, which significantly enhance storage and picking efficiency.
With this milestone, MHIRJ has not only secured operational independence but also created the agility to implement future improvements, expand service offerings, and support its customers with tailored solutions.
“We are now the masters of our own destiny,” Legros stated. “This flexibility ensures we can continue improving and innovating for years to come.”
This strategic move empowers MHIRJ to innovate, expand services, and deliver tailored solutions, ensuring continued growth and customer satisfaction.
